New Office Conversion In Saffron Walden, Essex
This project involved transforming an existing traditional farm building into a modern office space while maintaining the traditional aspect of the barn.
For our part of the project, we were tasked with the manufacture of some traditional timber casement windows and an expanse of full height glazed screens.
The screens were manufactured using Idigbo timber with an Oak stain and lacquer. Idigbo is a very durable and stable timber which, when stained gives a convincing Oak finish and offering the client an economical alternative to solid Oak.
The real challenge with the screens fitted a square frame into the Oak structure which had stood for many years and naturally moved to its current position. We overcome this with some discreet trims that blended into the frame.
The traditional casement windows we manufactured using Sapele timber. Again, it’s very durable and stable. We finished these with a spray-applied paint system giving a superb finish.
The overall finished product achieved the client’s expectations and requirements.
