The Staircase With Glass Balustrades
This recent project involved a client who was completely redeveloping their house. The design was to be very contemporary, and they required a new staircase to complement its surroundings. The client required a staircase that had clean, modern lines with glass balustrades.
We spent time considering the design of the staircase before putting the plan forward, as, with all our products, this was an individual design.
The layout of the staircase was a straight flight onto a quarter landing. One riser lead on to a second quarter landing before driving to the first floor via another straight flight.
We manufactured the strings with prime grade Oak. The glass balustrade was fitted on Stainless Steel standoffs finished with a rebated Oak handrail.
The stairwell window allowed natural light to flood through the glass balustrade, complementing the design of the staircase.
